Monjumaru was once human a couple centuries before present day. He had challenged Ibuki to a fight and ended up vowing to defeat her. After 50 years, he still could not and was gravely wounded, though Ibuki went to his side and gave him some of her power, turning him into a half-mononoke. Now the two spend their days in Avidya Forest together as husband and wife.
